Well…that wasn’t quite the epic pitching duel it was hyped up to be…but there was plenty of action, some drama, and a happy ending…that’s all you can ask for in a big time, sold out, national TV game, right? I don’t think anybody would have expected Pedro Alvarez to be the hero on a night where he didn’t get the start, but baseball’s funny like that sometimes:
Gotta love it. There aren’t many people you want to see come through in a spot like that more than Pedro. And even though there were no outs, it was a pressure spot because of what had happened the last time the Bucs had loaded the bases with no outs (and they were back to the same part of the order).
