BRADENTON, Fla. — Michigan football coach Jim Harbaugh and his team visited McKechnie Field today, entering from near the Pirates' bullpen in right field as "Hail to the Victors" played over the public address system.
The Wolverines are holding part of their spring practice at IMG Academy in Bradenton. The move, an incursion into SEC territory, angered the conference; SEC commissioner Greg Sankey asked the NCAA to prohibit football teams from holding practice during spring break, a response to Michigan's trip, according to CBS Sports.
Pirates manager Clint Hurdle, a Big Rapids, Mich. native and Wolverines fan, addressed the football team before Wednesday's game against the Detroit Tigers.
