Max Moroff reached Williamsport as a 12-year-old. Twelve years later, he's back.

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — The hill behind the outfield wall at Howard J. Lamade Stadium has two tiers. Spectators usually fill the lower tier; kids sled down the upper section on broken-down cardboard boxes.

When Max Moroff’s Maitland, Fla., team faced Newtown, Pa., in 2005, there was no room for sledding.

“There were 30,000 people at that game,” Moroff said of facing the de facto home team. “You saw the two hills today? They were covered with people, you couldn’t see the grass. That’s how crowded it was.”

Moroff returned to the site of the Little League World Series Sunday, 12 years after reaching the U.
