Max Kranick Undergoes Tommy John Surgery

According to Jason Mackey, Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Max Kranick had Tommy John surgery on Friday, which ends his 2022 season early and will have him out during the early part of 2023.

Per sources, Max Kranick had Tommy John surgery yesterday morning. Tough blow for the Scranton native, who had shown a real uptick in velocity this season.

Kranick pitched five scoreless innings over two appearances with the Pirates this year. He missed some time early in the season with forearm soreness, which eventually turned into the surgery after being shut down for a second time.
