MiLB announced the monthly award winners around the minors yesterday, and the Pittsburgh Pirates were represented on that list by outfielder Matt Gorski. He won for the High-A South Atlantic League, though he’s been with Double-A Altoona for nearly two weeks. Gorski was recently named as the Pirates Prospect Player of the Month for May.
Gorski only needed three weeks to win this award, but he had quite the three weeks. He was named as the Player of the Week by both us and the SAL during his final week in the league, after hitting eight homers and putting up a 1.
