CALGARY, Alberta -- Evgeni Malkin took another big step toward rejoining the lineup today, as he joined his teammates for their game-day skate at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
Malkin, who has not played in 2021-22 while recovering from offseason knee surgery, wore a white, no-contact jersey. All of the other players were in black or gold jerseys.
He has been working out on the ice with skills coach Ty Hennes for several weeks, but had not been on the ice with his teammates this season.
The Penguins have not offered an updated ttimetable for Malkin to return to the lineup recently, reiterating that the projection that he would return sometime in December remained accurate.
