Jameson Taillon Has Second Tommy John Surgery, Out Until 2021

Taillon underwent flexor tendon repair surgery on Tuesday, Aug. 13, and during the procedure, Dr. David Altchek determined Taillon also required a UCL revision.

The hope going into the surgery was that Taillon would not require Tommy John and would be back to pitch midseason in 2020.

Altchek is the doctor who performed Taillon’s first Tommy John procedure in 2014.

Taillon has been on the Injured List since early may with a right flexor strain. After months of inactivity, he got the green light to throw again in July after new imaging showed healing.
