I thought the Brent Morel era was over….you thought it was over….but here we are. Morel was pulled from Indy’s game Sunday night and, sadly, is the most logical candidate on the Triple-A roster to join the Pirate infield after Jordy Mercer‘s ugly injury. Mercer headed back to Pittsburgh (instead of Kansas City with the team) on Sunday for evaluation by team doctors.
Jung Ho Kang can take over at shortstop, but that leaves either Morel or Sean Rodriguez (who has been absolutely horrendous at the plate) at third base.
