Harris says he has played with steel plate in his shoe, but it's now removed

During Friday's open locker room session at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex on the South Side, the Steelers' running back confirmed that he had been playing with a steel plate in his shoe to help remedy the Lisfranc sprain he dealt with in training camp.

He mentioned the plate was removed this week.

"Obviously I missed about seven, eight weeks, missed the whole (training) camp, missed about a couple preseason games," Harris said. "And then, you know, I got a steel plate (put) in my shoe, so kind of prohibits me doing certain things.
