Unfortunately for Pirates fans seeking love, one eligible bachelor has decided to go pro.
Former Pirates pitcher Chris Leroux will be the star of The Bachelor Canada when it begins its third season, Canadian broadcast company Corus Entertainment announced Thursday.
Leroux, 33, is a native of Montreal, Quebec, whose professional career included time with the Canadian national baseball team and the New York Yankees. But his best performance was his 2011 season in Pittsburgh, when he posted a 2.88 ERA over 25 innings.
The Canadian version of The Bachelor has no significant differences from its American source material.
