Crick out for year after clubhouse ‘altercation’ with Vazquez

SAN FRANCISCO -- Kyle Crick's volatile 2019 continues.

Crick injured his right index finger Monday before the team's game vs. the Giants, requiring season-ending extensor tendon repair surgery. He is expected to return in full for Spring Training 2020.

But here's where things get wild: Per a release from the Pirates, "The injury occurred as a result of an altercation with Felipe Vazquez in the Pirates clubhouse prior to Monday's game versus the San Francisco Giants."

The conduct violated both players' contracts, and they have been fined an "undisclosed amount" as a result.
