The Pittsburgh Pirates have sent 1B/OF Corey Hart to AAA Indianapolis to begin a rehab assignment. Hart went on the disabled list on June 24th with a left shoulder impingement. The move was made retroactive to June 22nd, so starting his rehab now will give him a week's worth of at-bats before he is eligible to come off the DL. He is in Tuesday night's lineup in the DH spot.
Also, Jose Tabata has cleared waivers and the Pirates have sent him outright to Indianapolis. With his contract, that is no surprise and with the remaining money he has left, he isn't going anywhere.
