Cannonballs coming: Waddell outstanding, Tarpley debuts

-- Indianapolis (15-14) wasted another strong start in a 3-1 loss to Syracuse. Wilfredo Boscan gave up a run on four hits over six innings. He walked none and struck out four. The Indians had plenty of opportunities, but went 1-for-12 with runners in scoring position. The one exception was a Max Moroff pop fly that the shortstop and centerfielder let drop between them. Cory Luebke failed to get through an inning, giving up a run on a hit and a walk while recording two outs, both via strikeout. Others:

Alen Hanson: 0-5 (5 hits in last 44 AB)
Adam Frazier: 2-5
Josh Bell: 2-3
Jason Rogers: 1-4
Cole Figueroa: 0-4
Moroff: 2-4

-- Brandon Waddell had little trouble with a weak Trenton lineup in a 5-1 Altoona (15-17) win.
