Chase Anderson continued his string of solid starts by pitching six scoreless innings, and Domingo Santana backed him with a solo homer in a 1-0 win over the Pirates on Tuesday at PNC Park. The Brewers, who have won nine of their last 11 games and won or split seven of their last eight series, can sweep the three-game set with a victory in Wednesday's series finale.
Tuesday's win kept the Brewers 3 1/2 games behind the Cubs, who won at Tampa Bay, in a National League Central race that could hinge on the looming four-game series between Chicago and Milwaukee at Miller Park.
