The Pittsburgh Pirates announced that outfielder Anthony Alford has been activated from the 10-day injured list. To make room on the active roster, Hoy Park has been optioned to Indianapolis. They also announced that Max Kranick will continue his rehab work with Indianapolis.
Alford was out with a wrist injury that occurred during Spring Training. He played two rehab games with Bradenton and three with Indianapolis, putting up a .333/.444/1.000 slash line, with three homers, three walks and two strikeouts.
Park hit .214/.267/.286 with the Pirates this year, playing just five of the first 13 games this season.
