UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — There won’t be many games this year, even in the preseason, where Bryan Rust is one of the elder statesmen on the Penguins’ roster.
But he made sure to rise to the occasion Tuesday night, in the Penguins’ 4-3 overtime loss to Buffalo at Penn State, dishing out pointers to his younger teammates when he got a chance.
“I know when I was in his situation, I had older guys and guys in my shoes who tried to just give little tips here and there,” Rust said. “I think that helps. Just a lot of encouragement, then some tips, things we could do better as a line.
