Trotman demotion suggests Schultz ready to return

The Penguins have assigned defenseman Zach Trotman to their American Hockey League affiliate in Wilkes-Barre.

The move suggests that defenseman Justin Schultz, who has been activated from injured reserve after missing the past seven games because of an unspecified lower-body injury, is likely to play when the Penguins face the Coyotes tonight at 7:08 at PPG Paints Arena.

Mike Sullivan is expected to address the status of Schultz and defenseman Jack Johnson, who sat out the Penguins' 3-0 victory against St. Louis Wednesday because of illness, when he meets with reporters around 5 p.
