Former Islander Trevor Gillies made an appearance on the latest episode of the Spittin' Chiclets podcast, and one subject that came up in the interview was his role in the infamous 2011 brawl between the Islanders and Penguins, in which Gillies injured Eric Tangradi with a dirty hit and taunted Tangradi while he was down.
"It was a gutless hit," host Paul Bissonnette told Gillies on the podcast, drawing a chuckle from Gillies.
"You know the deal, Biz," Gillies said. "You do what you're told. It's all about the brotherhood. We know in that room what happened, and what took place.
