The Penguins won’t play outdoors in 2021-22

The NHL has announced their outdoor games for 2021-22, and the Pittsburgh Penguins won’t be involved in any of them.

The traditional January 1st Winter Classic game will be in Minnesota and feature the Wild against the St. Louis Blues from Target Field (home of the Twins).

The last planned Stadium Series game was originally in Carolina, but COVID happened. The league and the Hurricanes have come to an agreement to still hold an outdoor game in the Raleigh area, but it won’t this season.

The Penguins were initially chosen to be Carolina’s opponent for the cancelled-2021 game.
