The Penguins allowed eight goals in a playoff game, not once, but twice within 3 days

Flash back again to the spring of 2012.

The Battle of Pennsylvania.

The Penguins had fallen into a 2-0 series hole after blowing a 3-goal lead in Game 1 of the series and managing to turn several leads in Game 2 into a 3rd period in which they allowed four goals and lost 8-5.

The series shifted to Philadelphia and the Wells Fargo Center, where the Penguins were hoping to just provide a spark to get themselves back in the series.

That.....didn’t happen.

Again, they started the game on the right note, scoring the first goal, but the good things pretty much ended there.
