Matt Cullen is returning to Pittsburgh, a source confirmed to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette on Sunday afternoon.
The 41-year-old is signing a one-year contract to return to the place where he won a pair of Stanley Cups in 2016 and 2017.
After 2017, Cullen went back to Minnesota for a year. While the Penguins tried to land him at the trade deadline, it never worked out.
Cullen is coming off a season where he had 11 goals and 22 points in 79 games, although it admittedly wasn't the best fit for Cullen hockey-wise.
General manager Jim Rutherford will be speaking Sunday afternoon at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex, where he's expected to address the deal.
