Sullivan confident in Murray despite 7-goal outing

MONTREAL — Matt Murray had a 2.28 goals-against average before Washington torched him for seven goals Monday night.

But all of those goals the Capitals scored during the Penguins’ 8-7 victory at PPG Paints Arena won’t dissuade coach Mike Sullivan from starting Murray again when his team faces Montreal at 7:38 tonight at the Bell Centre.

“Matt’s had a history of responding pretty well to those types of games,” Sullivan said today. “He’s also a guy who hasn’t played a lot of games, coming off his last injury, so we feel that with another game here, he’s going to get that much more comfortable with the decisions he makes and finding the puck, tracking the puck.
