Sidney Crosby’s support of the Penguins’ White House visit has drawn criticism from some in his native country.
Activist and former Halifax, Nova Scotia, poet laureate El Jones told Metro Halifax Monday that the decision by the team and Crosby to accept an invitation from the White House was “an act of moral cowardice.”
“I hope that he sees this and realizes how greatly disappointing this is to Canadians and particularly to Black Canadians. He has a chance to reconsider,” Jones said. “I’m not saying he’s a terrible person, but he made a terrible choice.
