Ron Cook: Penguins' loss not a reason to worry ... yet

WASHINGTON — The Penguins said all the right things late Saturday night about how they wasted a great opportunity to eliminate the Washington Capitals in Game 5 of their Stanley Cup playoff series. But the truth? The Penguins can’t be too upset about their 3-1 loss at Verizon Center. In fairness, they had this defeat coming. They were fortunate to have a 3-1 series lead after the Capitals won the first game in overtime and the next three games were so tight, all going the Penguins’ way by one goal. It would have been greedy to ask for or expect four consecutive wins against a Capitals team that had a 120-point regular season.
