Report: Pirates trade Quintana to Cardinals

It seems José Quintana is going to be staying in the National League Central for the rest of 2022, as the Pirates are close to a deal to send the left-hander to the divisional rival Cardinals, according to a report by ESPN's Jeff Passan.

According to Francys Romero of MLB.com, the Pirates received right-hander Johan Oviedo and minor-league corner infielder Malcolm Nuñez in return.

DK Pittsburgh Sports is working to confirm these reports.

Quintana was the most likely Pirates player to be dealt this deadline given his good results and expiring contract.
