Rapid Reaction: Washington Capitals 3, Pittsburgh Penguins 1

WASHINGTON -- The Washington Capitals delivered with their season on the line Saturday night in a 3-1 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins to extend this excellent series to a Game 6 on Tuesday night in Pittsburgh. The Penguins lead the series 3-2.

How it happened: A series that had combined for just one power-play goal in four games suddenly saw each team connect on Saturday night.

T.J. Oshie’s power-play goal four minutes into the second period would stand up as the winner. Alex Ovechkin also opened the scoring with a power-play blast in the first period.
