QMJHL cancels remainder of regular season

The QMJHL will not resume its regular season due to the coronavirus outbreak, the league announced on Tuesday.

The league still hopes to be able to have a postseason at some point. If the league is able to play a postseason, it's not clear what the format would be.

The regular season was scheduled to end on March 21, 2020. Since teams have played an uneven number of games, the final regular season standings are based on points percentage.

The Penguins' two QMJHL prospects, Samuel Poulin and Nathan Legare, would both in a playoff spot in a normal QMJHL postseason format based on the adjusted standings.
