Police charge two men in fake Stanley Cup ticket scheme

Pittsburgh police have arrested two Massachusetts men for selling counterfeit tickets for the first and second games of the Stanley Cup final.

Ronald Seeley, 45, and John Green, 46, were charged Wednesday with forgery, tampering with evidence and conspiracy after police said the men were found with $1,384 in cash and 18 fake tickets to the NHL championship.

After receiving a tip Wednesday morning from ticket vendors at the Consol Energy Center that two men were selling forged tickets, police officers went to the corner of Sixth and Center avenues that afternoon to find the suspects fleeing the scene in their car.
