Please, Nashville, do not ruin the catfish thing

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Jake Waddell seemed a little confused by it. He wasn’t alone.

"Thank you. That's hilarious. So I keep this? Wow," Waddell, the dude who threw a catfish on the ice at PPG Paints Arena during Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final, had just received a copy of a proclamation of support for the Predators by the Tennessee House of Representatives.

“That’s a lot of reading.”

It was a symbolic, gauzy, slightly corny gesture spearheaded by Representative Bryan Waddell, who handed the document to Waddell at Losers Bar in downtown Nashville. Though it also spoke about Predators fans in general, it made sense to single out Waddell.
