In a late report on the Pittsburgh Penguins official website, Assistant GM Tom Fitzgerald was quoted in saying “He’s not coming in here and beating out Marc-Andre Fleury and taking over this team”.

Fitzgerald also went on to discuss Murray’s age (21 years old), and the fact that he isn’t going to improve by sitting on the bench. The decision makes total sense and likely won’t come as a surprise to many of the Pittsburgh Penguins faithful.
Murray had a career-year in the AHL last season posting a record of 25-10-3.
