This Mike Sullivan said Monday that he is "hopeful" that injured forward Carl Hagelin could return at some point for the second round series against the Washington Capitals.
"He’s getting closer, he skated today [before practice]. He skated yesterday on his own. He’s making progress. We’re hopeful we’re going to get him soon. It’s one of those injuries that’s going to be a day-to-day thing. I can’t say for sure, but certainly we’re hopeful."
That could be empty playoff gamesmanship, or it could be legitimate. One never knows this time of year.
