The Penguins did many things well Saturday night to even their second round playoff series against the Washington Capitals with a 2-1 win at Verizon Center.
Chief among them was keeping Alex Ovechkin and the Capitals top line off the score sheet.
It was a victory within the win for Sidney Crosby’s line — tasked with matching up against the Capitals’ best.
The Crosby line came up empty on the score sheet for a second consecutive game as well, but had an encouraging two-way performance as the Penguins enter Game 3 at Consol Energy Center tonight, with the series tied, 1-1.
