Penguins to honor Tree of Life Victims with special jersey patch

Ahead of this evening’s game against the Islanders at PPG Paints Arena, the Penguins already announced several initiatives to help the victims of Saturday’s tragic shooting at Tree of Life Synagogue in Squirrel Hill. In addition to hosting a blood drive on Monday, the team will hold a collection to raise money for the victims and their families during tonight’s contest.

Earlier today, the Penguins announced an additional fundraising effort to help the community cope with the tragedy. Special patches will be worn by the players during tonight’s game against the Islanders to honor the victims, then the jerseys from the game are to be auctioned off with all proceeds going to support the victims.
