Penguins take offensive defenseman Calen Addison in second round

DALLAS — The Penguins drafted a defenseman with the 53rd pick (second round) in the NHL Draft, choosing Calen Addison of the Lethbridge Hurricanes in the Western Hockey League.

Addison led Hurricanes defensemen and tied for ninth in the league with 11 goals and 65 points in the regular season and added seven goals and 19 points in 16 playoff games.

He’s a right-handed shot who measures 5-10, 178 pounds.
