Penguins sign college free agent Cam Lee

Despite there being a pause in the regular season due the Coronavirus outbreak, the Penguins business doesn’t stop — and they showed that today, signing college free agent Cam Lee to a two-year entry level contract.

The offensive-minded defenseman recently finished his senior year at Western Michigan University.

“Cam is a good-skating, offensive-minded defenseman that fits the current style of play in today’s NHL,” said Penguins General Manager Jim Rutherford. “This signing adds more young depth at defense for us. We’re excited to have Cam as a member of the Penguins organization.”

He scored 21 points in 26 games during the senior campaign.
