The Penguins have signed center Jake Guentzel to a three-year, entry-level contract.
He is 5 feet 10, 167 pounds and was a third-round draft choice in 2013.
Guentzel, 21, had 119 points in 108 career games at Nebraska-Omaha before joining the Penguins' American Hockey Hockey League affiliate in Wilkes-Barre on an amateur tryout contract late in the regular season.
He had two goals and four assists in 11 regular-season games with the Baby Penguins, then added five goals and nine assists in 10 playoff games.
His 14 points were the second-highest total in the AHL through the first two rounds of the playoffs.
