Penguins Recall Forward Josh Archibald

The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled forward Josh Archibald from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Jim Rutherford.

Archibald, 23, will be looking to make his NHL debut when the Penguins host the Calgary Flames in Saturday afternoon’s 3 p.m. tilt at CONSOL Energy Center.

This season the 5-foot-10, 176-pound second-year pro has compiled eight goals, six assists and 14 points in 51 games with WBS. His goal and point totals have already exceeded last year’s numbers.

Archibald, who was born in Regina, Saskatchewan, but grew up and played amateur hockey in Minnesota, has 28 points (14G-14A) and is plus-6 in 103 career AHL regular-season games, and he has two points (1G-1A) in five AHL playoff contests.
