Penguins notebook: Sheary benefited from healthy scratch

Being a healthy scratch might have done Penguins left winger Conor Sheary some good.

After sitting out Game 5 Sunday, Sheary was back in the lineup for Game 6 Tuesday. Logging 12:07 of ice time on 18 shifts, Sheary had an entry into the offensive zone which led to the primary assist on a goal by defenseman Kris Letang in the second period of the Penguins’ 5-2 victory.

“I didn’t have the jump I normally do,” Sheary said of his play before Game 5. “Maybe rest was good for me. I think I may have been trying to do too much.
