Penguins defenseman Olli Maatta returned to the lineup for Game 6 after missing three games due to a suspected head injury. He began the contest playing on the team’s second defensive pairing with Trevor Daley.
Maatta was injured in Game 2 when he was struck in the head by Capitals defenseman Brooks Orpik. The hit landed Orpik a three-game suspension.
After the Tuesday morning skate. Maatta indicated he was fully healthy.
“I feel like it’s been a good progression,” Maatta said. “Nothing, no setbacks. I’m hungry to be here.”
His return was a welcomed development.
