The Pittsburgh Penguins and head coach Mike Sullivan have agreed to part ways.
Sullivan coached the Penguins for nearly a decade and won the Stanley Cup with the team in 2016 and 2017. He was under contract through the end of the 2026-27 season.
“On behalf of Fenway Sports Group and the Penguins organization, I would like to thank Mike Sullivan for his unwavering commitment and loyalty to the team and City of Pittsburgh over the past decade,” said general manager Kyle Dubas in a release from the team. “Mike is known for his preparation, focus and fierce competitiveness.
