Penguins defeat Lightning, 5-2, to force Game 7

TAMPA, Fla. — The Penguins have a 3-0 lead against the Lightning after the second period of Game 6 in the Eastern Conference final at Amalie Arena.

Tampa Bay appeared to take the game's first lead 5:12 into the game. Lightning left winger Ondrej Palat went wide with the puck in the left circle and fed a pass past stretched out defenseman Kris Letang and through the leg of defenseman Brian Dumoulin in the slot. The puck found left winger Jonathan Drouin trailing in the right circle. With goaltender Matt Murray out of position, Drouin was able to slide the puck into a wide open net.
