Penguins cut 17 from training camp roster

Believe it or not, this is the last week of the NHL preseason, the Pittsburgh Penguins only have 2 more exhibition games (Wednesday at home for Detroit then Saturday at home against Columbus) before a few days break and the regular season opener next Thursday the 13th.

With that comes cuts, and the Pens trimmed 17 names of their NHL camp today

Players assigned to WBS include: goaltenders Casey DeSmith and Leland Irving; defensemen Tim Erixon, Ethan Prow, Stuart Percy, Cameron Gaunce, Reid McNeill, Steve Oleksy and Chad Ruhwedel; and forwards Oskar Sundqvist, Adam Krause, Ryan Haggerty, Sahir Gill, Josh Archibald, Dominik Simon, Garrett Wilson and Jean-Sebastien Dea.
