Penguins call up Frank Corrado from AHL

The Penguins have recalled defenseman Frank Corrado from AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, the team announced Thursday.

This will be Corrado’s third NHL stint this season. He has appeared in three games for the Penguins so far, with zero points. He was acquired in a trade last March.

The move could have been made to compensate for the loss of Kris Letang, who was ruled out “day to day” Wednesday with a lower-body injury.

The Penguins resume play Friday with a road game at Carolina.
