The Penguins made a move today to add defensive depth, acquiring Harvard defenseman John Marino from the Oilers for a conditional sixth-round draft choice in 2021.

The Penguins will surrender that pick if they sign Marino or trade his rights. They will retain his rights until Aug. 15, 2020.

Marino, 22, who was Edmonton's sixth-rounder in 2015, but never signed with the Oilers. He was the 154th player selected in his draft year.
