A lunch between Pittsburgh Mayor Bill Peduto and Penguins CEO David Morehouse on Tuesday may have paved the way to get development rolling on the 28-acre former Civic Arena site.
The lunch date comes only days after Mr. Peduto called out the team over its inability to get any work started on the lower Hill District site over which it holds the development rights.
Mr. Peduto afterwards described the lunch as "positive" and said he hoped to have an agreement with the team within the 24 hours to take back to the public authorities involved.
