Reviewing the top prospects in the Penguins system. This Thursday: Nos. 3-1.

When the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s annual list of the top 10 prospects in the Penguins’ system was being compiled earlier this month, it was decided that this year’s version would reflect which players are closest to being ready to step in and contribute to the parent club, if needed.

Two of the top three — forward Dominik Simon and goalie Tristan Jarry — already have been called upon to do that.
