Park traded to Red Sox for minor-league lefty

The Pirates have traded Hoy Park, who they had previously designated for assignment, to the Red Sox Wednesday for minor-league left-hander Inmer Lobo.

Park, 26, was DFA'd by the Pirates Tuesday to make room for first baseman Lewin Díaz, who they claimed off waivers from the Marlins.

Park came over to the Pirates from the Yankees. as part of the Clay Holmes trade in 2021 and bounced between the majors and minors throughout his tenure with the club. He was the opening day second baseman and slashed .216/.276/.373 with two home runs and 6 RBIs over 60 major-league plate appearances this year.
