Nine years ago today, Lord Stanley’s Cup returned to Pittsburgh and traveled down the Boulevard of the Allies after the Penguins won their first of back-to-back championships.

Days prior, the Penguins were victorious over the San Jose Sharks to win the 2016 Stanley Cup and bring the hardware back to Pittsburgh with them.

When the Penguins started their parade through the city, Pittsburgh was ready for them.

Massive crowds of people lined the streets to celebrate with their team that was back on top of the hockey world again, nine years after their last championship and having won their fourth title in team history.
