On this date in Penguins history: A Philadelphia comeback

Flashback to the spring of 2009. The Penguins had gone on a run to the Stanley Cup Final a year prior and were hoping to do the same this season.

In a first round Battle of Pennsylvania matchup with the Philadelphia Flyers, the Penguins jumped out to a 2-0 series lead.

After splitting games in Philadelphia, the Penguins were looking to close out the series at home in Game 5, but that didn’t happen.

They took to the road to face the Flyers in a pivotal Game 6 at the then-named Wachovia Center.
