Mark Maddex of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette: The Pittsburgh Penguins are willing to trade Evgeni Malkin for two reasons:
- They are not unhappy with this years performance and with his attitude.
- The return they get for Malkin could be enough of a mini-rebuild around Sidney Crosby.
There are a couple of reasons that could lead the Penguins to not trading Malkin.
- Malkin has a no-movement clause and has shown no desire to move.
- The return for the soon to be 33-year old may not be enough for them to make the big move.
